Content Inside: C APITAL D AYS Pennsylvania 4-H April 15-172007 43rd Annual 2007 Capital Days Presenters and Special Guests Christy Bartley has worked for Cooperative Extension for 18 years. For the first five years she worked as an Extension Educator in Monroe and Northampton Counties. Her major area of work interest was in youth development in urban and suburban areas of those counties. Christy was the Youth Program Coordinator in the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education for ten years and accepted the position of 4-H Youth Development Program Leader in 2003. She teams with Extension Educators across the state to support program professional and resource development and volunteer leader training. Christy collaborates with state agencies and organizations to enhance outreach of the 4-H Youth Development Program to underserved audiences. She works with faculty and staff on the state level to ensure evaluation and review of current 4-H work and support for an expanding program while supporting strategic initiatives in the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education and the College of Agricultural Sciences. Christys interests are in leadership and adult and youth development. Kerry Golden is the Executive Director of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Ms. Golden is a legislative consultant on agricultural issues who drafts legislation and manages information distribution and meetings for the committee. Her efforts have helped to craft and support key state legislation including the farmland preservation and "Clean and Green" initiatives making agricultural producers eligible for Small Business First loans and updating the state Dog Law. Since 1999 Ms. Golden has taught an agricultural careers class to freshmen and sophomores at Penn State Mont Alto.
