Content Inside: Billboard Announces Nominees For The Billboard R&B Hip-Hop Radio Awards -- Awards Will Honor the Best and Brightest in R&B/Hip-Hop Radio-- New York, NY (July 13, 2006) — Billboard, the world’s most trusted source of music, video and digital entertainment news, charts, reviews and analysis, announced today the nominees for the Billboard R&B Hip-Hop Radio Awards. The winners will be honored at a special awards reception taking place on Thursday, September 7th at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta. The Billboard R&B Hip-Hop Radio Awards recognize the industry’s top R&B/hip-hop and adult R&B radio stations, programmers, and personalities in both major and secondary markets. Awards will be given out in a variety of categories including Station of the Year, Operations Manager/Program Director of the Year, Assistant Program Director/Music Director of the Year, Mix Show DJ of the Year, and Syndicated Show of the Year. “These awards celebrate two of today’s hottest radio formats,” said Scott McKenzie, group editorial director, Billboard Information Group. “All of the nominees have had a profound impact on the R&B/hip-hop radio industry, and we’re thrilled to be able to honor their achievements.” The nominees for the Billboard R&B Hip-Hop Radio Awards were chosen by a committee made up of Billboard and Billboard Radio Monitor editors and chart managers, advisory board VIPs, and industry experts. All of the nominees will appear on a ballot that will run in the July 14th issue of Billboard Radio Monitor, and the winners will be determined by subscriber votes.
