Content Inside: COURSE INFORMATION SHEET Wood Carving and Turning Course Title: CR54N Course Reference: Whatley Avenue - workshop Where will the course be held? Tuesday evenings – 7.00pm to 9.30pm When will the course take place? 20 weeks How long will the course last? Are there any additional costs for this course? Tools and materials are provided, and wood is supplied for initial training. Students may supply their own wood for individual projects, or the tutor will obtain this, at cost, if possible. Do I need any additional pre-enrolment advice? Not necessary, but advice will be given if requested. Do I need to bring anything with me? No Do I need to have any prior knowledge, skills or qualifications? No Will I gain any qualifications? No of 1 COURSE INFORMATION SHEET What will I learn? What progression routes are available to me on completion of this course? You will learn to carve in a variety of woods, and will learn several finishes for the completed work. All students will receive an individual lesson in turning and will learn to use the lathe and tools. There will be opportunities to use the workshop lathes for individual projects. All students will learn to use the workshop equipment and work safely with others. The course is ongoing, and there is opportunity for any student to continue to a higher standard in subsequent terms. What do I do if I can’t afford the course?
