Content Inside: Guide to Attire for the Convention 2007 Our office receives a number of questions every year about what attire is appropriate for the various functions at the Annual Meeting and Trade Show. We have prepared this material to assist you in knowing what to bring to the meeting and what is requested for each function. There is a fairly wide range of opinions on different types of attire. In some offices for example business casual includes jeans while in others it does not. We have tried to clarify what is normal customary and acceptable attire at our meeting. We hope that you find this information helpful. During the Day The Southerns Business Casual - At the Southern business casual for men is defined as: slacks and either a long sleeved button down shirt or a nice short-sleeved polo shirt and corresponding attire for women. What not to wear: Jeans tennis shoes tight or short skirts ball caps t-shirts and sweatshirts are never considered business casual. Golf Outing - If you are planning on joining us for this optional event the course prohibits blue jeans or cutoff shorts of any kind. They require collared shirts (no T-shirts or tank tops) and shoes with soft spikes. Optional Tours - If you are planning on joining us for one or both of these optional events plan to wear comfortable walking shoes and dress is casual. Whatever you would normally wear to go shopping and out for a casual lunch is great. In the Evening Thursday evening - Southern Soire - Dressy Casual - If you are planning on joining us for this optional event the attire is Dressy Casual. At the Southern dressy casual is what you would feel comfortable wearing to a country club in the evening. For men: Sport coat slacks and a nice shirt. Neckties are not required but are certainly acceptable. For women: A dress or nice separates are perfect for women.
