Content Inside: December, 2006 EDUCATION NEWS Raising 100,000 Voices is a media literacy community education project encouraging young people to share the issues they face as emerging adults. The next phase of this project will equip youth with GPS tracking, video and internet skills for locating and mapping existing community resources that address pressing local public health concerns. Participating youth will learn to produce geo-linked video shorts and web-based resource guide maps for viewing and sharing with the broader community. These youth will be developing the "social entrepreneur" skill sets and tools to becoming public health action leaders for Monroe County. The presentation of this information will help to identify gaps in unaddressed community needs and fragmented community responses to these issues.
