Content Inside: AustinLehman Adventures: 18005751540 Mexico Oaxaca Page 1 Mexico – Oaxaca Itinerary & Details 2007 Day 1: Oaxaca City Oaxaca airport meet and greet • Transfers provided to the Hotel ExConvento San Pablo • A welcome reception then dinner on your own tonight Notes: You will be met at the airport and transferred to the Hotel ExConvento San Pablo in Oaxaca City, our accommodation for the first four nights of our trip. Located close to Oaxaca’s main square, the Hotel ExConvento San Pablo is a 5star accommodation housed in the former convent of Santa Catalina, built in 1576. It has been meticulously restored to its former splendor but with all the modern conveniences for the 21 st century traveler. A welcome reception will be held followed by dinner on your own. We will provide you with a number of suggestions to enjoy your first taste of Oaxacan cuisine, the wonderful regional Mexican cuisine that has been popularized in the United States by Rick Bayless of Chicago’s Frontera Grill. Day 2: Tlacolula / Teotitlan Embark on a scenic 18mile country bike ride mainly along secondary dirt roads, with minimal traffic (it is common to share the road with cattle, goats and local farmers) ending in Tlacolula • Stop along the way to see the region’s oldest church • On to Teotitlán for lunch and a museum visit • Return to Oaxaca for dinner at La Casa Abuela Notes: After breakfast we shuttle 20 minutes to the town of Santa Maria del Tule, location of the world famous “El Tule Tree”.
