It is quite tricky and fiddly to fold so you may have to practice! Try to make your folds as sharp and neat as possible. 1. With the colored side down, fold your square horizontally and vertically in half, opening up again each time. 2. Flip over. 4. Open out once again. 5. Flip over. Pull these two outside edges together . 6 .and start to collapse the model into a square . (a) 3. Fold in half diagonally. You should end up with this! 8.Fold the top outer corners in so that they line up with the centre crease as shown. 9. Fold the top corner down and crease well. 10. Unfold those last three creases so that your model looks like this. Now put your finger on point (b) to hold it down and lift the flap marked (a) out and over point (b). (b) (a) 11. As you push flap (a) out, bring the edges in towards the middle and flatten them. 12 .until your model looks like this. Now flip it over, and repeat steps 8, 9, 10 and 11 again. Crease everything very carefully, but don’t be too worried if you find getting it perfect. The bird base is quite tricky and takes some practice!
