For more information on literary research in general, obtain the Literary Criticism Research Guide. LOCATING JOURNAL ARTICLES THROUGH DATABASES & INDEXES WNCC Library & Media Services subscribes to 28 databases that provide the full-text of over 7,000 journal and newspaper articles as well as books. The following databases are good places to start looking for journal articles on this topic. These can be accessed from any campus computer. Access is also available from off campus with a library-supplied password. Literature Resource Center provides information on authors from all time periods and their works, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, and journalism. Over 120,000 authors are covered in this database which provides biographies, bibliographies, overviews and literary criticism. It also includes the full-text of hundreds of literary books published by Twayne and Scribner. Each "book" contains a list of the major events in the authors life, biographical information, a discussion of the authors works, and a list of works by and about the author. Magill Online Literature contains the full-text computer equivalent of over 22 sets (102 volumes) of literary reference books that provide plot summaries, character profiles, biographical information about the authors, and critical analysis of their works. (Formerly called Masterplots.) Academic Search Premier provides full text for nearly 4,600 scholarly publications, including more than 3,500 peer-reviewed journals.
