Content Inside: Red Nose Response Newsletter Editor: Barbara "Sparky" Bird March 2007---Vol. 1 Issue 2 Greetings RNR Responder We hope you enjoyed receiving the first issue of the Red Nose Response newsletter. At this time I would like to recognize the founding members of Red Nose Response (formerly named Red Nose Relief). We all accepted one year terms in January 2006. Some officers and members of the Board of Directors will be changing and some will stay on as we begin our second year. Soon you will hear about the new members of the Board and an additional Advisory Board. The founding members are: Jeremy "Krispy" Cohen President Bob "Bunky" Gretton Vice President Mary "Giggles" Bennett Secretary David Robinson Treasurer Additional founding board members include Paul "FuddiDuddy" Kleinberger Barbara "Sparky" Bird Keith "Toby" Stokes and Cheri "CheriOats" Venturi. I am sincerely grateful for everyone who stepped forward believed in the mission of Red Nose Response and have helped in so many aspects of launching our organization. We are continuing to grow as we develop training programs response teams and awareness of Red Nose Response. In brief I would like to give you an idea of the organizational steps we have accomplished since late 2005 and during 2006: Incorporation as 501(c) (3) Gained Non profit status recognized by the Internal Revenue Service Developed a logo design (and redesign with the name change) Established a website and are redesigning that website Signed up over 280 responders in the US Canada Puerto Being A RNR Responder Tell Us Your Stories Who We Are Being A RNR Responder Working with the American Red Cross When a disaster occurs the American Red Cross is often asked to open and operate shelters.
