Content Inside: Stacy asked a good question about dress for the Google meeting and I thought I'd cc you all on my reply. Dress code is always harder for women than men because everything a woman wears is "marked." "Marked" is a term from linguistics. Here's an example of what it means: if I ask "How tall is he?" "tall" is not marked because that's the way we ask about height. In contrast I could say "How short is he?" but it's not the same thing. "Short" is marked.
