Content Inside: STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE DRESS CODE The State Executive Council developed the following dress code. Regional presidents (or their designees) will be serving as ushers for all general sessions. Any delegate not abiding by the dress code must change clothes before being admitted to the session. Advisors please assist delegates in packing for the State Leadership Conference by copying the dress code for each student delegate. Help them realize that clothing appropriate for the school setting is not always appropriate for leadership conferences. FCCLA members and advisors are representing an outstanding student organization and should project the image of a leader. One of the eight purposes of the FCCLA is as follows: To prepare for the multiple roles of men and women in todays society. Therefore an important part of the educational experiences provided by FCCLA includes developing an understanding of appropriate behavior and dress for business meetings and functions. WHAT TO WEAR Wear appropriate and modest dress attire to all conference activities. Professional business attire or business casual clothing For young women - Shirts dress shirts sweaters or polo shirts Pants/Slacks dress fabrics or nice khaki (twill) fabric dressy Capri pants Skirts/Dresses knee length or longer Jackets FCCLA blazers or dressy jackets Shoes - dressy boots flats dressy sandals or dressy heeled shoes For young men Shirts dress shirts sweaters or polo shirts Pants/Slacks dress pants nice khaki/twill pants Jackets FCCLA blazers or suit jackets Shoes - dress shoes or nice loafers WHAT NOT TO WEAR Revealing clothing no halter spaghetti straps or backless tops.
