On March 20 1995 Liz Johnson became the first woman to advance to the champ ionship match of a Professional Bowlers Association tour event but lost by 27 pins to Tommy Jones in the final of the PBA Banquet Open in Wyoming MI. On March 22 1638 religious dissident Anne Hutchinson was expelled from the Massachusetts Bay Colony. On March 22 1882 Congress outlawed polygamy. Lesson: Each of the above events has had an impact however large or small on the lives of women. For example although Liz Johnson and Libby Riddles may not be widely known their successes illustrate how the playing field in sports as in other areas of life is becoming more even.
