Content Inside: THE NATCHEZ POETRY CONTEST WELCOME to THE NATCHEZ POETRY CONTEST, held in conjunction with the annual Art & Soul Festival of Natchez, Mississippi. FIRST PRIZE is $1,000; two $250 Honorable Mentions. The contest is managed by the Natchez poetry community and will be blind-judged by New Orleans poet Andrea Young. Winning entries and other selected contest submissions will be published in an anthology by year end. Submission Period: May 1—July 31, 2006 (postmark dates). Submitted poems should be your own original work; any subject; 40-line limit per poem; no limit on number of poems submitted. Prize winners and other selected contest entrants will be published in a hard-copy anthology. Entry fee: $7 per poem. Make check or money order payable to: A&S Poetry. All entry fees are non-refundable. Deadline: July 31, 2006 (postmark). Winners will be announced by September 30. TO ENTER: Each individual poem entered must be accompanied by a separate ENTRY FORM which may be downloaded from our Website: www.Colin.edu/calendar.htm. Include a self-addressed, stamped postcard or your e-mail address for notification that your entry has reached us. (Notification will include a log number which should be used in any correspondence about your entry.) Also include a self-addressed, stamped envelope, if you would like notification of contest results. No poetry manuscripts will be returned. Manuscripts may be single-spaced. Photocopies or copies from letter-quality printers are acceptable, but dot matrix is not acceptable. Include a title page with the poem title only. Author’s name should appear nowhere except on the contest ENTRY FORM.
