Content Inside: 1 Welcome to Teen Planet: Population 560 Million A group of 10 to 12 teenagers sits huddled against the wall of an underpass in Prague to escape the rain. It is Saturday afternoon. Despite living in a developing country these teens are not unlike their age counterparts around the globe. Like all youth every- where they enjoy hanging out together exchanging private jokes blasting music on a boom box and flirting. What makes this group different from the last generation of teens in Prague? They have hopehope for personal freedom hope for a secure stable life- style and hope for economic opportunity. Ten years ago the same statement could not be made. We all live in hopeful times. The times are hopeful for the half- billion new world teens ages 15 to 19 who span the globe and they are hopeful for marketers with dreams of expanding their market shares and building relationships with this new generation. Most teens have a significant amount of money to spend. In fact teens spend more than $100 billion every year.
